What is micro blues?

A video of the actual dancing would be useless.  Micro blues is felt, not seen.
Micro blues is to blues dancing what blues dancing is to swing dancing.
Smaller, more intense, fewer moves, more mutual listening, more intimacy.
You lead by breathing, by moving a quarter inch, by tension and release.

Purpose

All blues dancers crave the things that micro blues delivers.
Some do it badly.  Some do it well.  Some don't do it at all.
Watch a brief video that gives you four reasons to learn/dance micro blues.
This workshop will deal with ettiquette and encourage you to dance micro blues.
If you're already great at it, it will inspire you to teach others.

Who will be there?

I may or may not advertise these workshops through traditional methods.
It will have more of a house-party feel.  The studio is, in fact, my house.
Please think about who you would like to dance micro-blues with, and invite them.

Schedule

7:30-8 doors open, tea & cookies
8-10 micro blues workshop (doors close at 8; please be early)
10-12 dance (I will play great, slow blues music the whole time)
In order to attend a dance, you must have attended a workshop.

Registration

It's not a class unless we have at least six students registered by 5 p.m. Thursday.
If we don't reach critical mass, you will get a cancellation e-mail and a refund.
If we reschedule it, you can choose: refund or transfer your registration to the new date.
I plan to limit the number of students.
